My husband and I were just in Europe for a summer vacation! With the good sometimes comes the bad....flying is stressful for both of us and the jet lag is messing with our sleep. So we are in full prevention mode in my house. Here is the perfect remedy for pregnant moms, kids, dads etc.
Have you ever wondered what an amniotic sac looks like? The first time I saw a baby being born, I was 12 years old. I was my mom's doula before I even knew what that meant. I remember being totally amazed by the whole process and the best part was that I was going to "catch" my baby sister. Don't worry, a doctor was there facilitating everything.
You need to remember that you and your baby are "LEARNING" the art of breastfeeding. You don't learn how to ride a bike overnight. And most first time moms compare their breastfeeding experience to all those images of moms sitting peacefully nursing their baby.
Believe me... their baby cried and pulled away from their breast too! It wasn't all roses in the beginning.
So a few years ago, a couple was expecting and asked if anyone had advice for first time parents. And lots of experienced moms and dads chimed in. There was some AMAZING ADVICE given and I wanted to share that advice with you because I see so many first time parents struggle in the beginning for different reasons. I think when you hear from other parents who have been there, done that... it can help to normalize parenthood.
